December workshops offer opportunities for professional development

Is that Task Important or Urgent?
December 5, 9 to 10 a.m.
The Urgent-Important matrix is a very helpful time management tool popularized by Stephen Covey in his book The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. This session will provide an overview of how to use this tool to prioritize tasks. Bring your to-do list to the session to put this tool into action.

Hiring Students at the U
December 7, 9 to 11 a.m.
The University of Windsor is proud to be able to provide employment opportunities to students. This session will provide an overview of the student hiring process, including hiring guidelines and forms.

What’s New at the U: Getting Ready for the New Finance System
December 12, 9 to 10:30 a.m.
The University of Windsor is currently preparing to replace the current Financial Information System with UWinsite Finance (Oracle Cloud), scheduled to go live in February 2018. This session will provide an overview of the key high-level changes associated with the new system as well as how to plan for the transition.

The ABC’s of E-mail
December 14, 9 to 10:30 a.m.
E-mail is one of the most widely used forms of communication in the workplace. Miscommunication can occur when the sender and receiver have different expectations or interpretation of the message sent. This session will explore how to communicate effectively through e-mail.
