Exhibition showcases culmination of four years of art study

Graduating students in the Bachelor of Fine Arts and Visual Arts and the Built Environment programs showcase the culmination of four years of studies with their thesis exhibition “Resonance” in the SoCA Gallery through April 11.

“Resonance” presents diverse and cross-disciplinary works a year in the making, from drawing and painting to animation and mixed media arts, reflecting the growth, creativity, and dedication of students in their creative journeys.

The exhibit features works by Abbey Dufault, Zoe Crosby, Yvonne Gascon, Logan Gillingham, Phoebe Findlay, Brooklyn Elgie, Elspeth McKay, Emma Chlumecky, Riley Scoboria, SeMonde Snauwaert, Nolan Stadder, and Teddie Ursu.

A reception and party Saturday, April 6, will give the public a chance to meet the artists and view their works. It will open at 7:30 p.m. and culminate in a dance party at 9 p.m.

“As we emerge into a post-pandemic society, our BFA Thesis Exhibition stands as a lively celebration of the arts,” says professor Jennifer Willet, director of the Incubator art lab.

The gallery is located in the Armouries building at 37 University Ave. East. Learn more about the artists and their works on the exhibition Instagram page or the gallery website.
