Sean Moriarty, acting executive director of Information Technology Services, is the featured speaker at a session for part-time students on Wednesday, October 10.
Moriarty will discuss the transfer of student e-mail to the UWin Gmail system, the MyUWindsor portal, the CLEW learning management system and will answer questions.
UWindsor students and staff were educated on wellness issues and treated to giveaways at the Health Fair in the CAW Student Centre Commons on Wednesday.
“Students need to know about our programs so that they can easily access the help they need right here on campus,” says Sophie Kargl, who staffed a booth for Campus Recreation.
Kargl promoted physical activity and fitness classes at the Forge Fitness Centre, encouraging students to spin the Info Wheel, which had questions testing their knowledge of health issues affecting young people.

The Organization of Part-time University Students invites all part-time undergraduate students, faculty, staff and alumni to its annual welcome barbecue on Tuesday, September 18, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
The event promises free food and beverages prepared and served by Catering Services, on the lawn outside the northwest corner of the CAW Student Centre.

An increase to the income eligibility thresholds for federal loans and grants to part-time students is being welcomed as a measure to ensure their access to post-secondary education.
The Canadian government announced May 16 it will invest approximately $22.5 million over the next 10 years to increase accessibility for student financial assistance. It is projected that over 2,500 additional part-time students will be eligible for a Canada Student Loan in year one, rising to just under 8,000 in year five.
Plans to relocate the University Bookstore to the lower level of the CAW Student Centre are taking shape following the signing of a formal agreement among the University administration, the University of Windsor Students’ Alliance and the Organization of Part-time University Students on Monday.
Space formerly occupied by the Thirsty Scholar will accommodate a large retail book outlet and student café space to create an overall shopping experience.
John Powell said it was “truly an honour” to be recognized by the Organization of Part-time University Students at its 20th annual awards dinner Thursday, but that isn’t why he loves his job.
“I have the fortune to be able to play a role in telling the stories of students, faculty and staff across campus,” the University’s director of Web development said. “Certainly the work I do is reflected in efforts to advance the University.”
