Ontario University Athletics named Lancer Thomas Kennedy its most valuable player in men’s basketball.
Ontario University Athletics honoured Lancer basketball players Thomas Kennedy, Najee Brown-Henderson, and Kali Grootenboer last week.
The league named Kennedy men’s basketball most valuable player and a first-team all-star, Najee Brown-Henderson a second-team all-star, and Grootenboer to its all-rookie team in women’s basketball.
A power forward, Kennedy averaged 20.8 points and 13.5 rebounds per game helping Windsor to a first-place finish in the OUA west division and a No. 6 ranking in U Sports. He will close out his Lancer career as the program’s all-time scoring leader with 1,479 points in just 83 career games, all-time leader in field goals with 591, and all-time leader in blocks with 117. He finishes second overall in career rebounds with 986.
In his first year with the Lancer squad, Brown-Henderson scored 453 points to finish second in the OUA and become Windsor’s all-time single season leader in the category.

Grootenboer, a 6'5" centre, had 177 points and 125 rebounds in her debut season to earn the provincial nod.
