Lancer athletes to line up for respect Saturday

Lancer varsity teams will dedicate their efforts Saturday to You Can Play Day, a project working to ensure equality, respect, and safety for all athletes, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, race, religion, or abilities.

Among the home games involved are:

  • Football vs. the Ottawa Gee Gees, 1 p.m. on Alumni Field;
  • Women’s hockey vs. the Laurier Golden Hawks, 4:10 p.m. at South Windsor Arena;
  • Volleyball vs. Niagara College in the Dennis Fairall Fieldhouse, women at 6 p.m. and men at 8 p.m.;
  • Soccer vs. the York Lions on Alumni Field, women at 6 p.m. and men at 8:15 p.m.

The football game also marks UWindsor Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day. Admission is free for employees with UWin ID. They can also bring a guest for just $5. Fans will enjoy special prize draws and more during this contest against the nation’s eighth-ranked squad.

Market to bring farm-fresh goods to centre of campus

The UWindsor community will be able to buy local produce right on campus at a farmers’ market, which opens tomorrow and continues each Thursday until October 27.

Fruits and vegetables, prepared foods and crafts will be on offer in the Student Courtyard between Dillon and Memorial halls from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
