Peer Mentorship Program

Windsor Law - A Community of Exceptional People.Leaders teaching Leaders.Shaping the 21st Century.

Students mentoring Students.

In September, 2010, Windsor Law launched a Peer Mentorship Program matching first-year students with upper-year student mentors to provide additional personal and academic support.  The Peer Mentorship Program is administered through the Student Services Office under the direction of Francine Herlehy, Assistant Dean (Student Services) and Professor Donna-Marie Eansor, Faculty Advisor.

We are pleased to announce that Sukchan (Soni) Bal (Law II)  will act as Student Coordinator for the PMP for the 2012-2013 academic year.  Building on the many successes enjoyed by the PMP program in previous years under the leadership of Jacqueline Goslett and Armin Sethi, Soni will play a key role in the administration of this program including the development of further student supports.

Soni has been actively involved with the Windsor Law community, through her participation with a variety of extra-curricular activites including Community Legal Aid, SLS External Outreach, Canadian Lawyers for International Human Rights, and Windsor Lawyers Feed the Hungry. Soni coordinated a similar PMP during her undergraduate studies at the University of Calgary and has worked as Mentorship Program Coordinator at the Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth, a non-profit organization offering a wide range of programming for immigrant youth.

Soni's experience, together with her interest in student success, will ensure that the Peer Mentorship Program continues to enhance the existing student supports available to the newest members of our Windsor Law community.
