Annual report highlights University’s progress on strategic goals

The University’s 2010/11 Annual Report, presented Tuesday to the Board of Governors, sets out progress on each of the five priorities identified in its strategic plan.

President Alan Wildeman said it tells stories about the wonderful accomplishments of students, faculty and staff in moving the institution forward, while including hard numbers to indicate performance, such as enrolment levels and financial statements.

“When we launched the strategic plan it was our intention to produce a tool that would be transparent, and would measure how well we are doing to meet our strategic priorities and fulfil our vision of being a student-centred university,” said Dr. Wildeman. “The new online Annual Report accomplishes these objectives with stories about students, faculty and staff, and data driven indicators to clearly show where we are doing well, and where we can make greater strides.”

With an unprecedented level of detail, the report includes a list of key indicators for each of the strategic priorities:

The financial section includes data on endowments, assets and debts, revenue and expenditures, fundraising and enrolment.
