City seeking shovelers for snow removal service

The City of Windsor has issued a call for volunteers for its Snow Angels program, which pairs shovelers with senior citizens and persons with physical disabilities.

“It’s a great way for students to contribute to the community,” says co-ordinator Jenna Conciatori. “All that is asked of you is to shovel the sidewalks bordering your assigned property within 12 hours of the end of snowfall.”

Volunteers must obtain a police clearance; the city will reimburse the fee.

All registered volunteers will enter a draw to win a tablet computer or one of two $50 Rec Express Cards, redeemable for goods and services at municipal recreation facilities.

For more information as well as the registration forms, email Conciatori at jconciatori@citywindsor.ca.
