Lancer men’s hockey welcomes a shift’s worth of recruits

Lancer men’s hockey head coach Kevin Hamlin expresses excitement at the six players he has recruited to the blue and gold for the 2020-21 season.

“I feel the incoming skill sets address the needs we have,” he says. “Each player competes hard and is a blue-collar individual who plays better in bigger moments.”

The coronavirus pandemic forced a delay to the start of play, but pucks are scheduled to drop in January 21. Lacing up for Windsor’s varsity squad are:

Goaltender Noah Gresbrecht, who split his playing time last season between the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the United States Hockey League and the Portage Terriers of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League;

Blueliners Olivier Arseneau, a transfer from the University of Prince Edward Island, and Jayson Fetter, named Western Conference Defenseman of the Year by the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League for his contributions to the Leamington Flyers; and

Forwards Robbie Burt from the Maritime Hockey League’s Amherst Ramblers, Barrett Daschyshn of the MHL Pictou County Crushers, and Matt Dorsey, coming from the Wenatchee Wild of the British Columbia Hockey League.
