The migration of Information Technology Services systems to new servers and networks will mean brief outages over the next few weeks.
Due to wireless network updates, IT Services is notifying the campus community of coming changes to campus WiFi network names, in addition to several short WiFi connectivity outages across campus between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m., Thursday July 23.
“The updates to the network aim at expanding the types of devices that can be connected to it,” says Computing Consultant Bodek Frak. “These include display monitors and Apple TVs, Playstations and Xboxes, and Ubuntu devices.”
As of 7 a.m. July 23, campus WiFi network names will reflect the following changes:
The University Computer Centre will test its new emergency power system on November 13.
The Finance department advises that its procurement and customs departments will close for the holiday season on December 23 and will re-open on January 3, 2012.
Accounts payable will run payments (i.e. electronic fund transfers and cheques) for the final time of the year on Tuesday, December 20. Requestors must submit all invoices or cheque requisitions for payment by Friday, December 9, to meet this deadline. Any invoices or cheque requisitions received after this date will not be processed until after the holiday break.
