Course to promote positive workplace environments

A six-hour course from Continuing Education will provide a comprehensive grasp of workplace equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging practices that are vital for fostering a positive and progressive workplace.

The “Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging for the Workplace” course is uniquely grounded in anti-oppression principles, ensuring participants not only understand but actively engage in deconstructing oppressive structures within their workplace environments.

Participants will gain insights into how their personal experiences influence their leadership across diverse backgrounds, enabling them to shift from awareness to impactful action.

The exploration of diverse and inclusive workplaces delves into critical concepts, including bias, prejudice, discrimination, and privilege. By examining these aspects, learners develop a nuanced understanding of creating environments that embrace diversity. More than just theoretical discussions, the course equips participants with a practical roadmap and tools, empowering organizations to collaboratively shape equitable and inclusive workplace practices. The emphasis is on recognizing and celebrating the inherent value of diversity and inclusion.

Additionally, the course content is dynamic and responsive to current issues. The instructor will have the flexibility to adapt the material, ensuring that participants are equipped with the latest insights and strategies to address the evolving landscape of workplace dynamics.

Upon successful completion, a certificate of participation will be issued to the participant.

The knowledge, skills, and a roadmap for action provided through this course will empower individuals to become champions of workplace inclusivity, fostering environments where everyone feels valued and heard. The course takes place online April 8 and 10 from 5 to 8 p.m.
