Business school tops hospital fundraiser goal

During the month of March, the Odette School of Business set and exceeded its goal to raise $2,000 for Windsor Regional Hospital’s Hats on for Healthcare fundraising campaign.

The long-running campaign encourages participants to wear unique and creative headwear and raise funds for medical equipment. This year, proceeds were directed to oncology inpatient treatment and diagnosis.

In addition to faculty and staff donations, several student groups got involved, including the Master of Business Administration Society, Master of Management Society, and the Odette Commerce Society. Their activities included a bake sale, cultural celebration, movie night, and dodgeball tournament.

Odette learning specialist Sandra Neposlan, who spearheaded the activities, was pleased with the students’ results.

“All groups put in a good effort with events, particularly at a time when students are heavy into final projects and tests,” she said.

Odette School of Business interim dean Ashish Mahajan says he was proud to see the school provide support for its local community through the hospital: “As a collective, our Odette community raised $2,425 for WRH oncology patient care!”
