Deadline approaching to RSVP for OPUS awards banquet

Friday, Oct. 20, is the deadline to RSVP to join the Organization of Part-time University Students for its 31st annual awards banquet, recognizing part-time undergrad students, professors, and staff members for “Going the Extra Mile.”

The event in the Student Centre’s Alumni Auditorium, beginning at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, will honour:

  • Senior Administrative Leadership Award - Chris Busch
  • Friend of Students Award - Erika Kustra
  • Staff/Faculty Leadership Award - Chris O’Gorman
  • Departmental Appreciation Award - Windsor University Faculty Association (WUFA)
  • Board Appreciation Award- Janice Mcadam
  • Teacher of the Year Award - Aamer Shujah
  • Faculty Award - Louis Cabri
  • Staff Awards - Shelby Marchand, Colin McLellan, and Alison Zilli
  • Partnership Award - Women's Enterprise Skills Training (WEST) of Windsor Inc.
  • Volunteer of the Year- Hardik Hajela
  • UWindsor Student Care Legacy B. Camello Doctor Scholarship - Mohammed Alharbi
  • Alumni Association Academic Achievement Award - Dora Donlon
  • Dr. Kai Hildebrandt Part Time Student Award - Rhonda Vacheresse
  • Dr. Susan Wendt Hildebrandt Part Time Student Award - Dominika Wojtal
  • Mary C. Schisler Award in Dramatic Arts - Andrea Halin
  • Ken Long Memorial Award - Chloe Renke
  • Dr. Kathleen McCrone Award - Silvia Paglia
  • VEK Ternoey Academic Second Chance Award - Sara Taylor
  • Wayne Girard Memorial Leadership Award - Amna Masoodi
  • Student with Disability Achievement Award - Bianca Lenarduzzi

In addition, OPUS bursaries were awarded to part-time and mature undergraduate students based on financial need. Two of these bursaries are sponsored by the University of Windsor Alumni Association and three are sponsored by the Campus Dental Centre.
