2015 NSERC Discovery Competition results announced

More than $3.7 million in Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) funding was announced yesterday to support the work of 23 UWindsor researchers in biology; chemistry and biochemistry; earth sciences; computer sciences; mathematics and statistics; civil and environmental engineering; electrical and computer engineering; and mechanical, automotive and materials engineering.

The awards comprise the 2015 competition results for NSERC’s Discovery Grants; Discovery Accelerator Supplements; Alexander Graham Bell Canada Graduate Scholarships; NSERC Postgraduate Scholarships and Postdoctoral Fellowships.

The Honourable Ed Holder, Minister of State (Science and Technology), made the announcement at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology as part of funding to 70 Canadian universities to support new discoveries in science and engineering that push the boundaries of knowledge, create jobs, opportunities and improve the quality of life of Canadians.
