University community invited to run or walk for Pride

Volunteers who participate in the Run for Rocky under the University of Windsor banner will receive a commemorative pin.

The event honours the life and legacy of Rocky Campana, who died of suicide at the age of 23 in 2012. It raises funds for Gay-Straight Alliance groups in local schools, as well as Windsor-Essex Pride Fest and Trans Wellness Ontario. It takes the form of a 3km walk or 5km run along the riverfront during Windsor’s pride celebration on Saturday, Aug. 12.

As a sponsor, the University is entitled to 40 free registrations at the $40 level — some are already spoken for by members of the Lancer women’s basketball team and the Belonging, Inclusivity, Diversity, and Equity (BIDE) Institute.

Students, staff, alumni, friends, and family who wish to join may register at www.runforrocky.com using the promo code LANCERS.
