Session to introduce summer prep program

A virtual information session Thursday, June 11, will shed light on the details of the UWindsor Prep Program offered by Continuing Education, launching in July. The classes serve as short refresher courses in the areas of:

  • Advanced Functions and Problem Solving,
  • Biology,
  • Chemistry,
  • Physics,
  • and Microsoft Excel

that will help to prepare students for first-year classes in their programs.

Geared towards high school guidance counsellors, educators, and parents, the discussion will centre around the topics of course curriculum, format, and learning outcomes that students will explore in each of the five courses. Hosts will also answer participants’ questions and provide an interactive opportunity for all to learn more about this program.

The session will be co-hosted by Continuing Education and the Office of Enrolment Management - Recruitment.

Sydney Murray, student recruitment officer, explains, “By partnering with our colleagues in Continuing Education, we are able to share information about this program with key influencers of our incoming Lancers so that they are aware of how it may benefit first-year students by building confidence and preparing them for what’s ahead.”

All UWindsor faculty and staff are welcome to attend as well — either as parents or advisors to our incoming Lancers.

More information about the program and registration for Thursday’s session are available at uwindsor.ca/prepprogram.
