Online System
CEPE uses the Desire2Learn Management system for all online workshops. Three important features of this system are: Content, Discussions and the Course Toolkit.

Content
Once you are in the workshop, you can click on Content on the Navigation Bar and you will see the modules and the components for each module within the workshop. Usually each workshop starts out with an introduction and an overview of assignments and outlines. Within the modules, you will often see what is referred to as ‘Put into Practice’ boxes which contain information and direction for students to complete assignments. You will also see other boxes entitled ‘Making Connections’ which provide additional information to assist students with furthering their learning.

Discussions
After you click on this feature, you will see the Forums that have been created for the course. Participants are usually directed to this Discussion Board through the ‘Put into Practice’ information. Once there, participants will be able to post responses, respond to other participants in the workshop or attach documents. Instructors will also be able to monitor time spent by participants in this Discussion Board.

Workshop Toolkit
When you are in the 'Workshop Home' you can access the Workshop Toolkit which contains information such as: outline, assignments, links to other sites.

During the course
Instructors will provide additional information at the start of the workshop regarding due dates for assignments and postings as well as time to spend on each module. You are asked to review all the modules at the start so that you can determine your time accordingly and not run the risk of being overwhelmed.

Instructors will also be in a position to give you feedback on postings or to provide advice on an ongoing basis. They will also be able to monitor your time spent on Discussions, so it is important for you to be on consistently in order to achieve a positive outcome.

At the end of the course
Instructors will expect that all assignments are postings have been submitted. Failure to do so will result in poor grades or failure. Participants will eventually be able to see their grades online.

CEPE also asks participants to evaluate their Instructor.
