Financial Assistance

A Master of Social Work degree is an investment in your future. We understand and appreciate the financial commitment required by you to pursue and earn your MSW degree. Here are some financing option ideas to help with your tuition funding.

Employer Contribution or Tuition Reimbursement

Many companies offer assistance for employees to further their education. Check with your company's Human Resource Department to see if your employer offers assistance such as sponsorship or tuition reimbursement.

Government Loans & Programs

The Government of Canada and the Province of Ontario offer a variety of scholarships, loans and programs to help students cover the cost of schooling. Below you will find links to government websites regarding scholarships, loans such as OSAP and the Life Long Learning program where you can withdraw from your RRSP to fund your education.

Bank Loans

Canadian banks look at a Masters degree as an investment in your future, and many of our students will require some level of financing to assist in funding this investment. Many banks offer student loans with low interest rates to help with this. Visit your local bank for information regarding student loans available for graduate students.

Tax Credit

Another item to remember is that the MSW for Working Professionals program is a full-time university program and as such, you will benefit from favourable treatment at tax time as you are eligible for tax credits and deductions just as a traditional full-time student would.
