Campus Police and Windsor Police Service Training Simulation

Emergency Training Simulation
Wednesday, August 9, 2023 - 08:00 to 13:00

Date: Wed, Aug. 9, 2023

Time: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Location: Memorial Hall, Main Campus, University of Windsor

To help ensure the safety of students, faculty and staff on campus, the University of Windsor’s Campus Community Police and Windsor Police Service are holding an emergency response training simulation on Wednesday, Aug. 9.

Windsor Police Service will use Memorial Hall and the immediate vicinity for training between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m., and Campus Community Police will test its Emergency Notification System.

During that time, members of the UWindsor community may receive “test” notifications via email, through the Safe Lancer app or text if you have registered for that option.

Please do not be alarmed if you see armed police officers moving through campus and around Memorial Hall on this date. The training exercise does not involve direct participation from the general campus community.

Access to Memorial Hall will be restricted during this time. Please avoid the area to ensure simulation participants can conduct training without disruption. Regular campus activities will continue as usual.

If you are not already registered for emergency notifications, students, faculty and staff are encouraged to sign-up by visiting uwindsor.ca/alert and downloading the Safe Lancer app.

The University of Windsor recognizes that emergency simulations can be stressful for some people. Mental health supports are available:
