Canada has one of the most skilled cohorts of young entrants into the labour market in its history. Young Canadians are educated at unprecedented levels, have work experiences beyond what is widely reported and are being challenged to excel in all kinds of extra-curricular activities that demand skill acquisition. It is important to identify what more can be done to better prepare Canadians for the needs of our emergent labour market and we all stand to gain when the existing skills of Canadians are understood, extended and celebrated.
