The men’s basketball team won a hard-fought quarterfinal over Brock on Wednesday, 88-80. The Lancers will travel to Hamilton on Saturday to take on the McMaster Marauders.

The women’s basketball team, defending national champions, earned a bye through the first round and will host the Brock Badgers for a semi-final on Saturday. Game time is 7 p.m. in the St. Denis Centre.

Lancers to support Windsor Olympian

Three-time world champion boxer Mary Spencer will join the women’s basketball team for its half-time show Saturday with a demonstration of her own abilities. The team will make a donation toward Spencer’s fund raising for the 2012 Olympics, and invites fans to contribute as well.

“We wanted to do something as a team to support Mary's quest for gold at the London Olympics,” said head coach Chantal Vallée. “We have used her as an example to motivate us before important games.”
