Three teams from the Enactus group at the Odette School of Business won praise at the organization’s regional exposition, March 11 in Mississauga.
The champions were chosen through live, presentation-based competitions by a panel of judges drawn from industry. Regional champions will move on to the national level of competition, May 6 to 8 in Toronto. Enactus brings together student, academic and business leaders committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to improve quality of life for people.
Allan Conway, dean of the Odette School of Business, said the local chapter of the organization has made a great contribution to the school and the surrounding community.
“When we launched the Richard Peddie Leadership Initiative a year ago, the stated aim was to create 21st century leaders—encouraging and facilitating our students in leading now as the way to make them even stronger in the future,” he said. “I’d like to thank the Odette faculty and staff who have made the development of our students their life’s work—it is working.”
The conference also named Odette student Kristy McLean one of its Woman Leaders of Tomorrow. Executive vice-president of Enactus Windsor, she will join five others under consideration for the national award in May.
