Windsor’s unique climate of co-operation between academic, business and industry sectors gives you access to state-of-the-art engineering facilities and outstanding career opportunities.
The Faculty of Engineering offers programs designed to develop professional competence and to prepare students to solve the technical problems of society and the global environment. Our departments include:
On behalf of our entire Faculty, we'd like to welcome you! Whether you're a high school student trying to figure out what Engineering is all about, a potential graduate student considering advanced study through a Masters or Doctoral degree, a company or industry representative wondering if our university can assist you with a research problem, we're positive that the Faculty of Engineering here at the University of Windsor can help you.
For those of you who are new to university, please browse our Faculty website to find out more about what Engineering is, what we can offer you, and if you can't find the information you need, please drop us a line. We certainly hope you will join us, ready to embark on a challenging and exciting journey of education. Engineering takes work, but it is work that is well rewarded. When you finish, you'll have a degree that can lead you to many places.
For those of you who already have an undergraduate degree and wondering if you should further enhance your education, we say "yes"! The demands on professional engineers around the world are increasing in terms of what they must address: our society must confront technical, societal, and environmental issues. A Masters or Doctoral degree in Engineering here at UWindsor demonstrates your commitment to the profession: we're confident that our faculty can give you that edge professionally, and reward you personally through the insights you gain.
For those of you in industry, consider our Faculty as your "first stop" if you have challenges in your business or workplace that need to be addressed. We can bring some of our best minds to the table, and you'll have some of our brightest and most enthusiastic graduate students - the next generation of problem solvers - working on your challenges to turn them into opportunities.
Our Faculty has seen a tremendous amount of change and interest in the last few years. We're very proud to say that much of this is because of our students. We recently had several top places finishes in the Ontario Engineering Competition; a first place finish in the North American Big Beam challenge; achieving top ten percent placings in the SAE competitions; a dynamic Engineers Without Borders chapter; hosting the Canadian Federation of Engineering Students; two consecutive first place finishes at the Waterloo Robot Racer Competition – and there are more accomplishments too numerous to mention! But we're equally proud of our students who have helped win the "small victories". Students who enter our Faculty dream about making a difference: when they graduate, they have the skill, knowledge, and passion to do so.
We believe as a future professional engineer, you cannot stop learning. With that in mind, our Faculty has embarked on a number of educational initiatives to enhance what we offer and how we offer them. Some examples include the support program for our First Year Engineering (WINONE) students, and an innovative Masters in Engineering program to serve the needs of our students. And in a few short years, we will unveil our crown jewel - the new $110 million Centre for Engineering Innovation (CEI) - that will serve as a dynamic hub for learning, research, and industry liaison at the University of Windsor.
We hope that whether you study with us, work with us, or simply decide to come along for the ride, that you will in the future recall your years with our Faculty as some of the best you've had.
Join us as we move fast, and think faster.
