Network maintenance: Mon Apr 15 10:30-11:30pm

To patch a critical security vulnerability, IT Services will be performing network maintenance Monday, April 15 between 10:30 and 11:30 pm.

During this time, there may be short 5-10 minute outages to the University's Internet connectivity. Additionally, the Computer Science and Student Accessibility Services networks will experience multiple brief 30 second outages. 

 

If you have difficulty accessing the network after the maintenance, please contact the IT Service Desk by calling 519-253-3000 ext. 4440, when it opens Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m.  

Microsoft Outlook Web Issue

We've identified an issue impeding the saturation of the fix throughout the affected environments, and we anticipate we can have this issue resolved by the time of our next scheduled update.

 

 

Microsoft is reporting some users may experience delays accessing Outlook on the web. 
 
Microsoft support has identified an issue that affects Outlook functions that may be contributing to the impact. They're investigating and identifying a path to remediation. 

Outlook desktop and Outlook mobile do not appear to be impacted at this time.

We're continuing to monitor the fix as it deploys to all affected environments, which is taking longer than initially anticipated. We'll aim to provide a estimated timeline for the fix to finish deployment by our next update.

 

Update - Issue Continues

Microsoft determined that a recent update intended to improve the reliability of Outlook on the web contained an issue that is causing users to be unable to download attachments. Microsoft is still developing a fix to remediate the impact and suggests users use the Outlook desktop app or try logging out and back in to Outlook on the web.
