Welcome to Graduate Studies in the Faculty of Human Kinetics!

As a three-time University of Windsor alumna, and 20 years as a faculty member, it is with pleasure that I welcome you to the Department of Kinesiology! We are excited to have you as part of our HK family. For nearly 60 years, we have been committed to helping our graduate students succeed through a wide variety of programs, initiatives, and experiences.

As a faculty, our mission is to create an optimal training environment for our students to excel in fundamental and applied research to promote excellence and professional competence.

Our team-oriented approach will ensure success and broad-reaching impact, and will provide a foundation for our scholars to become recognized leaders in Kinesiology & Health Studies and Sport Management and Leadership. This is accomplished through our Master of Science (Kinesiology & Health Studies) Thesis or Internship, Master of Sport Management and Leadership Thesis or Internship, and PhD in Kinesiology programs.

Canada’s top researchers are leading innovative studies through an extensive network of research centres, groups and laboratories. Supported by funding from the country’s three major granting agencies (NSERC, SSHRC, CIHR), as well as numerous foundations and industry partners, this research drives forward knowledge that enhances health, well-being, and quality of life. It also contributes to meaningful change across sectors such as community development, healthcare, industry, public policy, culture, and sport and recreation—locally, nationally, and globally.

We are always striving to improve, and we have set a course to ensure you have the best experience possible!
