Master of Sport Management & Leadership (MSML)

Consistently ranked as one of the best programs of its kind in the world, our Master of Sport Management and Leadership (MSML) program prepares students to be effective managers and leaders in sport; to critique sports' social, historical, and cultural influences; and to develop innovative solutions to critical problems in today’s multi-faceted sport industry.

The MSML Thesis program allows students to conduct independent research in areas such as leadership; organizational behaviour; sport marketing; sport sponsorship and advertising; policy and governance; and philosophical, historical, and sociological perspectives of sport. Students in this program work alongside a faculty advisor to complete a thesis research project. Applicants are encouraged to review faculty member’s areas of research and contact potential advisors prior to applying.

The MSML Internship program allows students to pursue course work and an internship (360 hours) in the sport and recreation sector. Applicants are not required to select a faculty advisor when applying to this program option.
