Gurupdesh Pandher is a Professor of Finance at the Odette School of Business at the University of Windsor.  He obtained his Ph.D. from Cornell University and has previously held tenured faculty positions as Associate Professor at the University of British Columbia and DePaul University (Chicago). He has also taught in international business programs in the U.S., Canada and Asia and has held visiting positions at the University of Maryland, University of Hong Kong, and the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology.

Dr. Pandher has also served for 11 years in academic leadership and administrative roles as Dean (CSU, WVSU); Senior Associate Dean (UW) and Graduate Coordinator (UBC), and was responsible for strategic planning, faculty development and administration, AACSB accrediation, new program development, and fundraising and representation activities.

In addition to academic experience, Dr. Pandher has over 10 years of professional and consulting experience with organizations such as Sunlife Insurance Company, Statistics Canada, IMF, World Bank, Arthur Andersen, Deloitte, Precision Economics, FinancialCad and others (he was Manager of Consulting with Andersen and Deloitte in Chicago).

He as received SSHRC (Social Sciences & Humanities Research Council) research grants and his work has been covered by the Globe & Mail and Business News Daily.  Dr. Pandher's multidisciplinary research has been published in a broad set of reputed journals including Academy of Management Learning and Education; Econometric Theory, Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, Journal of Banking & Finance, Journal of Derivatives, Journal of Economic Theory, Journal of Forecasting, International Review of Economics & Finance, International Statistical Review, Real Estate Economics, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, Strategic Management Journal, and Quantitative Finance.  

Dr. Pandher also serces on WUFA's Administrative Evaluation Committee, WUFA's Racial Justice Committee and is a member of RACEES (UWindsor group committed to promoting anti-racism research and practice).  He is committed to equity, diversity and inclusion for all members of the University community and promoting awareness of the pernicious effects of systemic institutionalized racism and "insiderism" on morale, productivity, quality and competitiveness.
