A trio of fourth-year students who recently brought home some impressive awards from the Southern Ontario Undergraduate Student Chemistry Conference say they couldn’t have done it if they didn’t work in such a supportive department.
Not everyone gets to be an Olympian, but thanks to a trip to Montreal and Lake Placid last week, students in Scott Martyn’s graduate course on “Crises, Politics, and Commercialism in the Modern Olympic Movement,” got to feel like world-class athletes for a couple of days.
“Overall this was an unforgettable experience that provided students with an opportunity to supplement the material learned in class with a unique hands-on experience,” said master’s student Ryan McConnell.
A partnership with the de Souza Institute will afford nurses seeking advanced preparation in oncology and palliative care a unique opportunity for professional development at the graduate level, according to the dean of the UWindsor Faculty of Nursing.
Linda Patrick announced Friday that her school will offer a graduate diploma in advanced practice oncology/palliative nursing for students in September 2012.
The Health Research Centre for the Study of Violence Against Women offers research grants for up to $500 for graduate student research on topics related to violence against women.
The spring 2012 deadline has been extended to April 15. Calls for applications will also be made in the fall with a deadline of November 15.
