Part-time students bid welcome to school year

Hundreds of students, staff, and faculty members enjoyed a barbecue held by the Organization of Part-time University Students to welcome the fall semester, Sept. 21 outside Assumption Hall.

The menu featured chicken souvlaki, beef burger, falafel, salad, chips, and cookies. Prize draws and music highlighted the event, the 21st iteration of the annual tradition.

Feeling especially welcomed was Dawn Ferron, who won a bursary worth up to $1,850 to offset tuition, sponsored by the University of Windsor Alumni Association.

“We had a tremendous turnout and fed more than 500 guests during the two hours,” said OPUS president Chris Baillargeon. “Thanks to all our sponsors!”
