The Going the Extra Mile Awards celebrate the work of student affairs staff.
The 24th annual banquet of the Organization of Part-time University Students was a huge success, says executive director Maryan Amalow, with 140 guests gathering in Vanier Hall on March 24 to honour 14 awards recipients.
“It was an exceptional celebration of our 47 years of existence, acknowledging those outstanding individuals who make our university a unique place and those students that lead the way to a successful future,” she says.
A seminar Monday night will invite accomplished students to consider the Rhodes Scholarship at Oxford University.
A reception Wednesday celebrated the academic accomplishments of residence students.
Students seeking general academic advice will now find the advisors at room 115, Dillon Hall, as the team has recently relocated from the CAW Student Centre Commons area.
“This will allow us to bring together in Dillon Hall our advising services with other key Student Success Centre services, which will enhance the UWindsor student experience,” says dean of students Clayton Smith.
Their efforts to help fellow students earned three honourees awards for Going the Extra Mile.
A seminar April 7 is aimed at helping students apply for a Rhodes Scholarship to Oxford University.
Student volunteers pledged Friday to act as Ambassadors for Academic Integrity.
Social work student Michel Nakhle won a $500 bursary in a draw by OPUS during Winter Orientation.
