A seminar next month promises professional development for practising social workers and students of the profession, as Community Partners for Applied Research and Consultation presents “Social Work: What have we done to ourselves?” Wednesday, April 17.
Brent Angell, director of the UWindsor School of Social Work, will act as host for the event, which runs 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Caboto Club, 2175 Parent Avenue.
Scheduled speakers include:
- Francis J. Turner, professor emeritus at Wilfrid Laurier University and a social worker;
- John Ellis, executive director of Family Service Ontario and an expert on not-for-profit leadership;
- Dan Andreae, professor at the University of Waterloo and a former president of the Ontario Association of Social Workers; and
- Alex Polgar, researcher, assessment expert, clinical social worker and consultant.
