Activities this week to help students de-stress

The Peer Support Centre is running some anti-stress activities this week in the CAW Student Centre.

“It’s to help raise awareness about mental health,” says the centre’s coordinator, Courtney Williston. “This is a stressful time of year for students and we are hoping to give them some experience in taking care of themselves.”

The itinerary includes:

Monday, February 10

  • a Lego and Play Doh table, origami and bubble wrap booth, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the CAW Student Centre Commons

Tuesday, February 11

  • making aromatherapy bath salts and stress-balls, and an activity creating valentines for senior citizens, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the CAW Student Centre Commons
  • a workshop on mindfulness at 5 p.m.in the boardroom, room 277, CAW Student Centre

Wednesday, February 12

  • finger painting and colouring books, and creating valentines for senior citizens, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the CAW Student Centre Commons

Thursday, February 13

  • cookie and cupcake decorating from 4 to 6 p.m. in room 206, CAW Student Centre

Friday, February 14

  • a surprise mix of activities from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the CAW Student Centre Commons

The events are also supported by the student club, Mental Health Awareness, and the Office of Student and International Affairs.
