Interdisciplinary and Critical Studies’ second teach-in event in the Sustaining Shared Futures series, “Afro-Feminisms,” invites the community to witness the resilience, strength, and beauty within Afro-descendant community, on Monday, Feb. 26.

“By attending our Afro-Feminisms Teach-In, you embark on a transformative journey that not only unveils the profound richness of Afro-Feminist thought, but also empowers you to be an agent of change,” says department head Natalie Delia.

Panellists include educator and public historian Irene Moore Davis, Marium Tolson-Murtty, UWindsor director of anti-racism organizational change, EDI and law enforcement representative Tina Brown, and education professor Juliet Bushi.

Running from 7 to 9 p.m., this free event will be delivered online via Teams and in person at the SoCA Armouries’ Performance Hall, 353 Freedom Way. Organizers encourage those wishing to participate to fill out the registration form.

Next month’s event, on the topic of Women’s Work and Transnational Feminism, will be held March 25.
