The Lancer women’s basketball team will participate in an online Shoot for the Cure campaign raising funds to help fight breast cancer.
The Shoot for the Cure campaign, which raises money to help fight breast cancer, will be held virtually the week of Feb. 1 to 7.
A project of the U Sports Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Association, this year’s campaign target of $44,000 would bring the total raised over its 14-year span to $1.5 million for the Canadian Cancer Society and other related charities.
All 48 Canadian university women’s basketball programs are slated to take part, with activities that include skills competitions, hair-cutting, trivia nights, auctions, fitness classes, skills clinics, fun walks and runs, eSports tournaments, raffles, 50/50 draws, and re-airing of classic games — all held virtually.
Lancer fans may donate through the team’s individual page on the Canadian Cancer Society website.
