An early-morning fitness class offered three times a week at the St. Denis Centre offers early risers a workout in what the instructor says is essentially free time.
Third-year movement sciences student Lance Cosgrove leads XRcise at 7 a.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
“This general program combines aerobic activity with muscle strengthening and flexibility exercises to provide a full body fitness experience,” he says. “It’s a refreshing way to start the day.”
He says there are many benefits to the time slot.
“It gives you a blast of energy to stimulate the mind and body,” Cosgrove says. “Plus, the facilities are mostly empty at that time. There is plenty of parking!”
The class is geared to a wide range of abilities and has already started, so he recommends registration as soon as possible. The cost is $70.80 for the semester with a faculty and staff rate of $60.18 and special student rate of $50.44. Register online through Campus Recreation.
