UWindsor's fearless mascot Winston was named victorious in the first round of CBC's Canadian Mascot Madness competition on Monday. The Lancer now moves on to face the University of Toronto's True Blue beaver.

It was a close battle, but Winston came out victorious in round one of CBC’s Canadian Mascot Madness competition.
The valiant Lancer secured 53 per cent of the votes over the University of Waterloo’s King Warrior.
Winston now moves on to face the University of Toronto’s mascot, the True Blue beaver.
Voting ends around 3 p.m. Tuesday.
