Performance to present compositions by UWindsor music instructor

New media works by UWindsor music instructor David Litke are on the program for in/fuse 16, Thursday, March 21, at 7:30 p.m. in Lambton Tower’s basement Studio A.

The free event will feature guest artists Krista Vincent and Aaron Hodgson, as well as Sigi Torinus, Martin Schiller, Trevor Pittman, David Litke, Brent Lee, Aaron Eichler and Nic de Cosson.

Reception Thursday to mark closing of student video installation

A free public reception Thursday, July 19, will mark the closing of a student’s exhibition in the LeBel Building’s SoVA Projects Gallery.

MFA candidate Nic De Cosson’s latest project, Vessel, a project-mapped video sculpture, is already on exhibition. He will host a closing reception in the gallery Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m.

Earth and environmental sciences students mine for gold in northern Manitoba

Mike Glendenning and his colleagues were prospecting for gold in the far reaches of northern Manitoba this summer, but may have inadvertently picked up some new knowledge in the field of entomology.

“There’s mosquitoes there, blackflies, horseflies, moose flies and new breeds of flies I’ve never even heard of,” the geology major and graduate student in Earth and Environmental Sciences said of the bugs he encountered during one of several two-week work rotations he’s done in the remote mining town of Lynn Lake.
