Reading to launch anthology of local poets

A UWindsor professor is one of the editors of a book celebrating the talents of poets from the Windsor-Essex region.

Creative writing professor Susan Holbrook and Palimpsest Press publisher Dawn Kresan edited Detours: an anthology of poets from Windsor & Essex County, a showcase of the eclecticism that characterizes the region: the traditional and experimental, the academy and community, the established and emergent, the internationally renowned and promising apprentice.

Nearly 900 students crossed the stage Saturday to receive diplomas during the University’s 96th Convocation Ceremonies. As family, friends and faculty joined in wishing the graduates a successful future, a few shared their proudest moments at the University of Windsor.

University to honour former auditor general of Canada

The University of Windsor will recognize the contributions of a government watchdog, along with the accomplishments of almost 900 graduating students, during two sessions of the University’s 96th Convocation ceremonies on Saturday, October 22, at the St. Denis Centre.

Former auditor general of Canada, Sheila Fraser, will receive an honorary doctor of laws degree during the afternoon session.
