Bus tour to explore local art community

Arts instructor Alejandro Tamayo believes a bus tour of significant artistic, cultural, and historic sites in Windsor presents a great opportunity for students.

Tamayo teaches a course in the School of Creative Arts exploring space as a medium. He is also executive director of the Arts Council - Windsor and Region, host of the Neighbourhood Art Tour on Saturday, Sept. 23.

“The arts community in Windsor has expanded considerably in the last few years. We want to encourage students to learn more about the organizations and resources available to them,” Tamayo says. “By participating in the Neighbourhood Art Tour, students will enhance their connection to the arts and the city they live in.”

A bus will pick up participants from ArtSpeak Gallery, 1942 Wyandotte St. E., at 1 p.m. and make stops downtown, in Sandwich, and in Ford City, before returning to Walkerville. The free event will be guided by Dakota Sweet. Attendees will also enjoy free access to Art Windsor Essex, where they can explore the gallery’s exhibits and activities.

This event is supported by the Windsor Endowment for the Arts, Art Windsor Essex, and Ontario Culture Days. Reserve a spot here.
