Continuing Education launches certificate program in advanced front-end web development

Continuing Education is now offering an advanced front-end web development certificate to meet the growing demands for skilled web developers. This comprehensive online program is designed to equip learners with the essential knowledge and skills necessary for creating dynamic, intuitive, and user-friendly web experiences at a variety of capacities.

This program is a culmination of five thoughtfully developed non-credit courses, providing students with a well-rounded understanding of various aspects of industry-standard web development. Each course is designed to help students build a robust Career ePortfolio, showcasing their practical experience and documenting their personal growth.

“Fundamentals of Web Design,” the first course in this series, covers internet and web fundamentals, social media, HTML basics, design principles and more. Secondly, “Web Design and Development” focuses on HTML5, CSS, responsive web design, SEO fundamentals, and Java script basics. The third course, “UX and UI Design,” emphasizes design thinking, user-centered design, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing. “Front End Web Development” introduces React, state and props, event handling, routing, and REST API basics. The fifth and final course, “Advanced Front-End Web Development,” delves into advanced React concepts, including best practices, debugging, asynchronous APIs, authentication, and optimization techniques.

Guiding learners through this certificate is professor Majid Afshar, a professional in the field of data analytics and computer science. With a background in artificial intelligence research and expertise in analytics, Dr. Afshar brings a wealth of knowledge to the Certificate in Advanced Front-End Web Development program. He is passionate about advancing computer science through research and teaching, with a strong commitment to academic excellence.

Classes will be conducted online through a virtual classroom, providing students increased flexibility.
