The Centre for Teaching and Learning recently hosted its 18th annual awards night, honouring the exceptional contributions of educators at the University of Windsor. The event highlighted the vital role educators play in shaping the future, as they mentor and inspire the next generation of students.

This year, the Faculty of Education Society Award was presented to three distinguished professors: Dave Cormier, Dr. Rebecca Reaume, and Dr. Priscilla Correa. These educators have demonstrated remarkable commitment to their students, fostering an environment where learning thrives. Their innovative teaching methods and dedication to mentorship have not only enriched their students' educational experiences but have also significantly influenced their careers.

Among the evening's highlights was the presentation of the OPUS Teacher of the Year Award to Aamer Shujah. Recognized for his outstanding teaching effectiveness and innovative approach, Shujah has developed flexible learning materials that cater to diverse learning needs. His ability to adapt and deliver content in engaging ways has set a benchmark for educational excellence within the faculty, and across the institution.

The event also celebrated the achievements of students who recently completed the University Teaching Certificate (UTC) Program, including five Faculty of Education students: Onome Eluwa, Padu Mohandas Surtan, Chioma Ibeh, Navpreet Kaur, Gurleen Kaur.

In celebrating these award winners, we acknowledge the profound impact educators have on shaping the future, one student at a time.
