The engineering faculty is deeply saddened to learn of the tragic death of Andrew Kraayenbrink, a second-year, mechanical engineering student who lost his life in a house fire on Rankin Avenue. I wish to convey our deepest condolences to Andrew's family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this time.
The university is offering counselling for students, faculty and staff and with the assistance of the Red Cross, shelter and support for several other students who escaped the blaze. We would like to thank the community members and university staff who have generously donated gift cards, food and clothes to the displaced students.
