History

In 2016/17, the University of Windsor completed a Strategic Enrolment Management (SEM) planning process facilitated by SEM Works. The planning process assisted in establishing enrolment goals for the university to better guide student recruitment, retention and success initiatives over the next 5+ years. The SEM process aligns student recruitment goals with student retention and success initiatives in order to optimize resources while maintaining strengthening student enrolment and completion levels.

The SEM process:

  • Included opportunities for faculty, administrators, staff, and students to provide input and feedback.
  • Built on the university’s existing approaches to enrolment management.
  • Was pan-institutional and complementary to the work undertaken by faculties and departments to recruit and retain students.
  • Utilized relevant information from alumni, community and government partners in the development of SEM strategies and tactics.
