Have a venture you’re ready to move forward? The Entrepreneurship Co-op gives you the opportunity to dedicate a full co-op term to building your own business while gaining practical experience as a founder.
Delivered by Fusion in partnership with Co-op, Career and Employment Services, the program puts your venture at the centre of your work term. You’ll set meaningful goals, identify what your business needs next, and take action with guidance and feedback from the Fusion team.
Your work will reflect the stage and needs of your venture. That could mean speaking with potential customers, refining your product or service, testing your business model, exploring revenue opportunities, or preparing to enter the market. Along the way, you’ll strengthen your ability to make decisions, solve problems, manage your time and adapt as you learn.
This opportunity comes with real responsibility. You’ll be expected to work independently, follow through on commitments, respond to feedback and demonstrate progress throughout the term. If you’re serious about entrepreneurship and ready to put in the work, the Entrepreneurship Co-op offers dedicated time and support to take your next steps as a founder.
Who can apply
The Entrepreneurship Co-op is open to University of Windsor students enrolled in a co-op program, across all disciplines.
We’re looking for students who are actively building a venture and ready to make it the focus of their co-op term. You should be able to explain what you’re working on, the progress you’ve made so far, and what you hope to accomplish through a dedicated term of entrepreneurial work.
You don’t need to have everything figured out, but you should have a clear direction, the motivation to work independently, and a willingness to learn and adapt as your venture develops.
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for student founders who are serious about their ventures and ready to take ownership of their progress. You’re motivated to build something, willing to learn through experience, and prepared to make your venture your primary focus during your co-op term.
You’ll be a strong fit if you’re ready to:
- Take initiative: Identify what needs to happen next and follow through without waiting for step-by-step direction.
- Set goals and stay accountable: Establish realistic priorities, manage your time and demonstrate progress.
- Listen, test and adapt: Seek feedback from potential customers and mentors, question your assumptions and adjust your approach as you learn.
- Work through uncertainty: Stay resourceful when challenges arise and ask for support when you need it.
- Engage with support: Come prepared for meetings with the Fusion team, share your challenges openly and put feedback into practice.
You don’t need to be an experienced entrepreneur. You do need the commitment to show up consistently and do the work.
