Message of Appreciation - July 2 and 3, 2020 Declared Campus Holidays to coincide with Canada Day Holiday

To our Campus Community,

The past several months have been a challenge for all of us locally and indeed globally. So much has changed and we have needed to adapt at a moment’s notice. At the University of Windsor, we have met that challenge with patience, persistence, and grace in the face of adversity. Everyone has given selflessly, and with the summer here we continue with unwavering effort. As Canada Day approaches, I am sure everyone is looking forward to pausing from our current pace and enjoying time with family and friends, even as we continue our physical distancing.

I want to genuinely thank the entire University of Windsor community who have worked continuously during the first 100 days of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In appreciation for all that you are doing, we would like to declare both Thursday, July 2nd and Friday, July 3rd as University of Windsor holidays for this year. I’m hoping that everyone can take a bit of a break from MS Teams and enjoy some much-deserved time off.

For those of you working in our 24/7 operations in essential services, I know that you will continue to be on campus to keep our university safe, secure, and operational. And for other colleagues who already have work-related commitments on July 2nd and 3rd, you may take the University holidays at another time. We are all truly grateful for your ongoing support and effort.

On behalf of the entire Leadership Team at the University of Windsor, I wish you all a very safe and relaxing Canada Day and long weekend!

Thank you so much.

Rob
