Dr. Andreas Maniatis joins us as an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Science, School of Computer Science. Previously, he served as a Professor at Mohawk College. His research interests include Leadership and Management, Software Lifecycle Management, Data Warehouses and OLAP, Data Mining and Decision Support Systems, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence, with specialization in Visual Representation and online, Interactive Exploration and Analysis of Very Large Data Sets (Visual Analytics and Big Data), and Educational Development. Prior to entering academia, Andreas served for more than 30 years in various positions in the IT industry and applied IT research.
Dr. Opeyemi Lawal joins us from the University of Guelph as an Assistant Professor, specializing in environmental and public health genomics in the Faculty of Science. His research explores how microbes adapt to changing environments, with a strong focus on antimicrobial resistance dynamics in environmental systems and their implications for ecosystem function and public health within a One Health framework.
Dr. Shaon Shuvo joined us in 2024 and is a recent graduate from the University of Windsor. He joined the School of Computer Science as an Assistant Professor in September 2024. Before joining this position, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the CHARGE Lab in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, where he had the opportunity to work on various industry projects in collaboration with partners. His research interests include emerging areas of AI such as computer vision, natural language processing, and reinforcement learning

Dr. Maddie Brockbank joins us from McMaster University, in the School of Social Work, as an Assistant Professor. Her research examines gender-based and sexual violence prevention with men via participatory and anti-carceral feminisms.

Dr. Swati Mehta is an Assistant Professor at the University of Windsor and a registered Psychotherapist. She completed her PhD at Western University and her post-doctorate at the University of Regina.Ā Dr. Mehta leads the RehabPsych Lab. The aim of the lab is to improve activity engagement and overall wellbeing among those undergoing rehabilitation through digital health programs, including virtual group based physical activity and internet delivered cognitive behavior therapy. She has received over 2 million dollars in research funding to date and has authored over 80 peer-reviewed articles. She has been awarded the Lawson Impact Leadership Award, the Royal Society of Canada Alice Wilson Award, and the Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation Excellence Award.Ā

Dr. Darwish Alami has more than 26 years of experience in the Automotive and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) industries, including owning and operating a Robotics and Automation Engineering company.Ā He served in the capacity of engineering leadership and executive management throughout his career.Ā Dr. Alami is joining the Mechanical, Automotive, & Materials Engineering department as Ancillary Academic Staff, with specific teaching, service, and administrative duties in support of the Industrial Engineering Program

Dr. Josianne Marsan joins us as the Dean of the Odette School of Business. She comes from UniversitƩ Laval, where she served as Vice-Dean of Research and Innovation, led a research center focused on business and information technology, and held the position of Full Professor in Management Information Systems (MIS) at FSA ULaval, for 16 years. Her primary research interests lie in the strategic and governance aspects of information systems and information technology (IS/IT), particularly the organizational and interorganizational processes of legitimization, selection, approval, and evolution of IS/IT.
