This project started with a Go Wild grant from the World Wildlife Fund to help restore nature to the campus, but with your help it can continue to grow organically! We welcome the involvement of the community in making the space a more effective and impactful education tool about the importance of native species.
If you would like to get involved with the project as a volunteer please reach out to the Jull Environment Club at jullclubuwindsor@gmail.com
We currently have the following projects ongoing:
Currently we are collecting stories about peoples connections to native species. We recognize that many of these plants have many different names and stories associated with them for multiple groups of people. If you have any information that you would like to share about any of our species, we would appreciate hearing from you.
We have left space on the website and the garden signage for Indigenous Peoples to share their relationship with the species in the garden. If you are interested in designing signage or the website please contact the Jull Environment Club at the email listed above.
We envision the garden as a learning space and key infrastructure to help spread native seeds. Annually, seeds of each species are collected for distribution to the local community. If you are interested in getting some native seeds, please reach out to the Jull Environment Club at the email listed above.
