Creative City is a collaborative art project that invites people to come together in envisioning and creating a model city using cardboard boxes. Join us at Open Streets and fill the space in front of The Armouries with structures like Galleries, Studios, Homes, Schools, Performance Venues, Theatres, Museums, Stores, Gathering Places, Community Centers, Artworks, and more!

There are 2 ways to participate:
During Open Streets:
Find us in front of the Armouries building at 37 University Ave East. We will have four stations set up with blank boxes, scissors, tape, and other materials to make your building.

In Advance:
Make your structure at home and bring it to Open Streets. It can be as detailed or as simple as you want.

Instructions:
Find a cardboard box (maximum dimensions 18” W x 18” L x 36” H). Cut one side of the box, turn the printed side towards the inside, and re-tape to have the blank cardboard on the outside.

Use cardboard shapes, smaller boxes, craft paper, paint, stickers, and more to make your structure. It can be as detailed or as simple as you want.
Make a sign for your building to tell everyone what it is, and don’t forget to bring it to us in front of the Armouries from 10am-2pm, Sunday October 17th to place your creation on the map!
