Basketball tournament offers opportunity to take on cancer

Who knew that you could fight cancer by dribbling?

A team of students from the Odette School of Business have organized a three-on-three basketball tournament Saturday, March 16, as a fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society.

Every player in the Hoops4Change tournament will receive a gym bag and t-shirt, but only the winners will get the chance to take on local celebrities for the title!

Celebrities scheduled to play include former Raptor Jimmy King, a member of the Michigan Wolverines’ fab five; Lancer men’s basketball grad Corey Boswell, now an assistant coach with the team; Windsor Police chief Al Frederick; sports columnist Rob Parker; radio personalities Mike Kakuk, Jay Marchello, Luke Nugent and Scott Desbins; and UWindsor standouts Bruce Tucker, Cathy Greenwell and Beth Oakley.
