Apply Windows patches immediately due to serious risk

IT Services has become aware that Microsoft Windows computers that have Remote Desktop enabled are now extremely vulnerable to being broken into by hackers if a recent critical Microsoft Update has not been applied.  The latest Windows patches should be applied immediately.  IT Services will be forthcoming with a follow-up announcement shortly to better protect their PCs and enable users to gain access to university computers remotely via a secure method.

While IT Services normally recommends that users apply patches as soon as it is convenient, they strongly urge users to patch their systems immediately in order to protect their PCs from this serious vulnerability.
